Clarification on PEC Email Requirements and Sender ID Registration in Italy

We recently informed you about updated Sender ID registration requirements for SMS traffic to Italy.

We would like to clarify that a PEC (Italian certified email) address is only required for Italian companies registering an alphanumeric Sender ID. Companies established in other European Economic Area (EEA) countries do not need a PEC email address.
We would also like to clarify the registration options available to companies outside the EEA.

We apologise for any confusion caused by our previous communication.

What do you need to do?

Companies established in the EEA

You can register your alphanumeric Sender ID using the registration form below. A PEC email address is only required for Italian companies.

Companies established outside the EEA

  1. With a European subsidiary: You can register your Sender ID through your European subsidiary using the registration form above.


  1. Without a European subsidiary: You can register your Sender ID by completing a Letter of Authorization (LOA).
  2. Download the document: Find the LOA under "International (Outside Europe)" in our Italy Sender ID Regulatory Guidelines:

  3. Submit your registration: Once completed and signed, send the document to our support team at support@linkmobility.com.

Register your Sender ID as soon as possible

SMS traffic to Italy using an unregistered alphanumeric Sender ID or an international numeric sender may be rejected.
To help maintain delivery, LINK Mobility may temporarily replace an unregistered alphanumeric Sender ID with an Italian long number.

We recommend completing your registration as soon as possible to avoid potential delivery disruptions.

Alternative messaging channels

WhatsApp and RCS may be suitable alternatives to SMS if you prefer not to use SMS Sender ID registration in Italy.
