Sender ID registration requirements
To register a sender ID for traffic in Kenya, specific information must be provided. Registration is required only for the operator Safaricom. Please ensure that you have the necessary documents and information prepared for submission.
Registration is required solely for the operator Safaricom.
The specific requirements for sender ID registration include: Sender ID, content samples, company name, company address, company URL, type of traffic (e.g., OTP, marketing), VAT, monthly volume, certificate of incorporation, and NOC letter.
Domestic registration
The registration process takes approximately 4-8 weeks and incurs a one-time fee of 240 EUR. Ensure that you have all necessary documentation ready to facilitate a smooth registration process. Pricing may vary; please contact Sales for the current sender ID registration rates.
It is essential to provide a Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission in Kenya, along with a Letter of Authorization from the Kenyan entity, and a license to operate in Kenya.
Additional information for partners and resellers
Partners and resellers must ensure that their customers are aware that the end customer, as the actual sender of the message, is responsible for the use, accuracy, and registration of the Sender ID. This includes ensuring that all required registrations, approvals, and supporting documentation are completed in accordance with applicable local requirements before traffic is sent.
LINK Mobility does not register Sender IDs on behalf of partners’ or resellers’ customers, unless otherwise agreed. LINK Mobility may provide support to partners and end customers throughout the registration process. Responsibility for providing correct information, obtaining any required approvals, and complying with mandatory Sender ID registration processes remains with the end customer. Partners and resellers should inform their customers of these obligations before sending traffic to destinations where Sender ID registration is mandatory.
