*Valid for all operators: Marketing traffic is not allowed between 9:30 PM and 8:00 AM, or on Sundays. Advertisers should avoid sending marketing traffic on Sundays and public holidays where the message may be considered excessive or unjustified commercial pressure. Campaigns should preferably be sent from Monday to Saturday. When using an alphanumeric Sender ID, the message must include “STOP #sms#” at the end. LINK Mobility will replace #sms# with the applicable shared short code for opt-out. If this requirement is not met, the Sender ID may be overwritten by a short code.

Limitations on application-to-person SMS from French mobile numbers

French mobile numbers can only be used for person-to-person (P2P) messaging. Application-to-person (A2P) traffic from French mobile numbers is not allowed and may be blocked by recipient networks.

This applies to all transactional and marketing use cases, including verification codes, notifications, and campaigns. For A2P messaging in France, please use an approved sender type.

Sender ID registration

Alphanumeric Sender ID registration is mandatory for sending A2P SMS in France when using a Sender ID. This applies to both marketing and transactional traffic.

To ensure delivery and help prevent fraud, messages must use a registered and recognizable brand, business, or product name as the Sender ID.

Generic Sender IDs such as “INFO,” “ALERT,” “SHOP,” or “APPOINTMENT” are not allowed unless they match a registered business, brand, or product and supporting documentation can be provided.

Non-compliant Sender IDs may be rejected, replaced by operators, or lead to financial penalties or traffic interruption.

LINK Mobility supports Sender ID registration for direct clients only. Requests from aggregators and gambling-related traffic are not accepted.

Sender ID registration should be requested in advance, as operator validation and approval timelines may vary.

Specific requirements for sender ID registration include providing a valid company name, URL, address, VAT, and type of traffic.

Sender ID rules

Sender IDs must follow these rules:

  • The Sender ID must clearly identify the advertiser, brand, or product.
  • Generic terms such as “INFO,” “ALERT,” “SHOP,” or “APPOINTMENT” are not allowed unless they match a registered business, brand, or product and supporting documentation can be provided.
  • Sender IDs must not look like a telephone number and cannot be made up of numbers only.
  • Sender IDs may only contain Latin alphanumeric characters: 0–9 and A–Z / a–z.
  • Special characters, accented characters, spaces, punctuation, and non-Latin alphabets are not allowed.
  • Certain Strictly Prohibited Sender IDs are not allowed.
  • Certain Prohibited Except With Permission / ISA Sender IDs may only be used with written authorization from the brand to the aggregator and validation by the operators.

To register or validate a Sender ID for France, please provide:

  • Sender ID, using only numbers and Latin letters A–Z
  • Content samples
  • Company name

Additional information for partners and resellers

Partners and resellers must ensure that their customers are aware that the end customer, as the actual sender of the message, is responsible for the use, accuracy, and registration of the Sender ID. This includes ensuring that all required registrations, approvals, and supporting documentation are completed in accordance with applicable local requirements before traffic is sent.

LINK Mobility does not register Sender IDs on behalf of partners’ or resellers’ customers, unless otherwise agreed. LINK Mobility may provide support to partners and end customers throughout the registration process. Responsibility for providing correct information, obtaining any required approvals, and complying with mandatory Sender ID registration processes remains with the end customer. Partners and resellers should inform their customers of these obligations before sending traffic to destinations where Sender ID registration is mandatory.
